Looking back on this post, it seems almost supernatural what happened here. God, was the love for You real?

. Hey! Many amazing things happened on friday! One thing was I was able to devote time in the morning to God again. The last time I did was over 2 months ago! Really, praise God! A new school semester starts tomorrow for me, so please pray for me! I want to be consistent in time with God, I want to know Him more!

. When I go to church, I take 2 buses (praise God!), and it takes about an hour. I was waiting at the first bus, just standing there, and there was another person standing there. I felt God tugging at my heart to go talk to this person, but I’m a shy guy so I didn’t want to. I stood there telling God, “No, I don’t feel like it right now.” The next moment, this guy walks up to me and starts talking to me! His name is Nate. He asked if I wanted to buy some reggae music cds, and I told him that I only had enough for the bus fare. (This was a lie, it just came out of my mouth automatically) We started talking about music, and what kind of genre of music we like. He asked me what kind of music I liked, and I said Christian music. He surprised me and told me that he was Christian! (I should not judge people by appearance) He glorifies God by praising Him with reggae music! This is really awesome, I told him, because I am also a musician for God! My bus came, and he wasn’t getting on this bus, so we said goodbye. I felt God at that moment taught me to don’t hesitate when He calls on us. That was the first person I talked to that night.

. I got to the second bus stop, and I looked at the time on my phone. I got there pretty early! Maybe I would be able to get to church even faster. There was one guy waiting at the bus stop, and he had a bike. While I was standing there waiting, I again felt God telling me to talk to this person, and again, I said no. I was afraid of failure. I told myself that I didn’t need to talk to this person because the bus was scheduled to come really soon. Thirty minutes passed, and the bus still did not come. I couldn’t believe it! The bus missed its time! The guy sitting next to his bike checked the time on his phone, and he looked impatient. At this point I asked God for strength, courage, and wisdom in talking to this person. I walked up to him, and we started off the conversation by talking about the late bus. His name is Oscar. We talked a lot more, about where he lived, what he was doing right now. He was waiting to take the bus to go to his uncle’s place, so he could work tomorrow. He then asked me where I was heading, and I told him that I was going to my church’s friday night fellowship. The next thing he told me really woke me up. He smiled, and then told me that today, on the friday we were talking, was the one year anniversary of when he should have died. Amazed, I asked him why is that. He used to work as a mechanic, fixing up cars, so he lies on the ground a lot while doing maintenance. On that day while he was lying on the ground, a large and heavy 40-inch tire ran over his stomach. Normally, you would expect a person to be crushed by such a large thing, but he told me then that he made it out with barely any injuries. From that day on, he believed that there is a God, and God spared his life on that day. It was so amazing! He told me that he wanted to go to a church today and thank God, but it was already almost time for his last bus to leave. I asked him that anytime he wanted, he would be welcome to come to my church, and he asked and got my phone number. His service was not on at that moment, so he couldn’t make a call. He told me that he shares a phone plan with his friend, but his friend had other bills to pay first so couldn’t pay the phone bill at the moment, so the service was temporarily cut off.

. The bus then came, and we got on and continued talking. He told me a lot about his life, that he came from Mexico three and a half years ago. He now lives with his mother and many siblings. He also told me that while he was going to school, his favorite subject was math. He went from the lowest level of math all the way to geometry, but then he was kicked out of his school because he was arguing with another student, and the teachers thought they were fighting. He told me they didn’t even fight at all, just arguing, but that after he was kicked out of high school he never went back to school. Instead, his friend owns a recycling center, and he is the manager there. I told him that it is never too late to go back to school, but he says that he likes working now better than school. At the recycling place, he told me he came up with a method to filter out the bottles filled with dirt or water, so that they were not cheated out of money. He also told me that he knows exactly how much a basket of cans weigh by lifting it up! I asked him if there was anything he was looking forward to later in life, and he told me not much. I really wanted to talk to him more about Jesus and why we were created, but his stop came up. We said our goodbyes, and he said that he would call me when he got the chance. After he left, I didn’t really know what to do. I prayed for him, then later on some brothers at my church also prayed for him.

. God taught me today to not hesitate when He calls on me. He was already telling me this through Nate, when he actually walked up to me first. He also reminded me again in the short, but blessed, time in talking to Oscar. I really regret not talking to Oscar right away, we could have talked so much more! I could have told him more about our God, and Jesus Christ. I’ll be waiting for his phone call, but until then, please continue to pray for him. Pray that he will come to know God; know the God who loves us, who protects us, and who wants us to know Him personally! Also please pray for me, as well as for yourselves; that God would give us a heart for the lost, a heart for the needy, a heart for the broken. That we would not be hesitant when God calls on us, but that we would overcome our selfishness and go and bless others.

. Thank You God, thank You for reminding me again that You are a true and living God. There is none like you, and I want to be Your good, and faithful servant. Keep me on the narrow path that is You, and that whenever I stray from it, Lord, please bring me back. Thank You God, thank You!

God Bless You,

Hey everyone! How has life been going? When I wrote “When God Calls On Us…” It was about a month ago! Since then God has taught me so much, and I would like to share some of the ways God has really blessed my time. Really, everyday is an exciting new day where God fills my time with busy work!

. On this previous sunday, while I was waiting at the bus stop to go to church, I was reading my Bible in the book of Matthew when this young man walked up to me and said hello. He was probably around my age! He said that he noticed me reading the Bible, and wanted to give me some sort of magazine. I took one look, saw that it was the Awake! magazine from Jehovah Witness, and said no thank you. As he left, I don’t know if I made the right decision. That was a chance for me to tell him about the Gospel! I pondered over that moment, then started searching through the Bible, mainly in the book of Revelations. I faintly remember there was a verse somewhere in this book that talked about to not add or take away from the words of the Bible, and I asked God to let me find it. In the next minute, after scanning through the entire book, I found it at Revelations 22:18-19! Instantly I started to look around for the guy, but couldn’t find him. At this moment (I was by myself) I started yelling out Revelations 22:18-19 and the verses! It was a pretty weird thing for me to do. We must pray for these lost souls! The bus came

. While on the bus, I started reciting scripture from memory while holding my Bible. I knew God was trying to tell me something, but I didn’t quite know what it was. I asked Him to give me courage to speak to people about the Gospel, about what Jesus did for everyone. I asked God to give me the strength to be able to talk to the next person who sat next to me on the bus. Some people got on the bus, and this old lady sat down to me. Telling God that may He receive all the glory, I said hello, then asked her if she knew Christ. I have never straight up asked anyone if they knew Christ before, usually it was just small talk that eventually led to the moment. She said yes, and we started talking about many things! It was a very blessed time! When I got off the bus, I said goodbye, then praised God! Thank You for helping me take the first step! At the second bus stop I again approached this Spanish couple who were there, and asked them if they knew Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, they told me they could not speak English, but said thank you.

. Now for the amazing part. The whole day has passed, I started to head home on the bus after church. Just as the first bus dropped me off, my next bus was just arriving, so I had to run as fast as I could to get to it in time. I got on the bus, and just as I sat down, I noticed that the old lady was there! I went to talk to her, and it was a very blessed time! Later I found out that she lives in my neighborhood too! Really, praise God! If He did not give me the courage right then and there to talk to the lady, I would have never been able to be so blessed! God has to remind me time and time again, but He is a true and living God!

. On tuesday, I woke up late for prayer meeting, and hurried to the bus stop. At the bus stop, I saw Nate again! He was one of the guys I mentioned in part 1. We said hi, and began to talk about many things. He never went to college before, so I told him the benefits of college, especially a community college. Before my bus came, he gave me a free music cd he created! Its reggae music, and the beats are pretty nice! At the second bus stop the bus missed its time, so I ended up waiting for more than 40 minutes. I spent most of this time praying, for others, for the lost, and I again asked God to give me courage. I walked up to this Spanish couple (not the same as last time) and asked if they had heard about Jesus Christ. They told me they didn’t understand english, so I said “Jesucristo”, pointed at my bible, and they smiled. Afterwards, I went to talk to this Indian guy who was nearby and was listening to me the whole time I was praying. I started to ask him if he had heard about Christ, and he told me he was Hindu. I didn’t really know what to say, so I asked if he believed there was only one God. He told me he believed in many Gods. I kept asking him questions, and each time he answered me, he would back away, until when I said goodbye he was about seven feet away from me.This was the first time experiencing someone who did not want to hear about Jesus! Away from the Indian guy, I prayed for him, that his eyes would be open!

. The bus came, and I got on. While sitting there on the bus, I asked God to give me courage to speak to whoever sat next to me, and at the very next bus stop, this Spanish looking guy came and sat next to me! He was wearing a cross, so I knew he knew something about Christ. I first started talking to him by asking if he understood english, and he told me that even though he did not look like it, his english was very good! We started talking about Christ, and he told me though he was a Protestant, all we needed was Christ. How many people understand this? Why does the Church have/need so many denominations? He then told me about where he goes to church and how many churches today were becoming very superficial and lukewarm. While talking, when he found out I was a music major at Mt. Sac, he laughed and told me that he was a music major back in the 70s at Cal State Fullerton! He plays the trumpet, and started to give me a lot of tips to increase the strength of my diaphram. Everything he taught me could be applied to singing too! He had to leave first, so we said our goodbyes. I didn’t look at the clock once until now, and it was already past 9 pm. By the time I got to prayer meeting, they were already coming to a close.

. So what do I want you to get out of all this?

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of really trusting in God with all your heart;this means your future, your desires, your decisions, place them into God’s hands. He knows what is best for His children, more than we could ever imagine.

Our God is a true God, a living God; He’s Amazing! Since the time I accepted Christ till now, He has blessed me beyond comprehension; not necessary material-wise, but with the way He has and will continue shaping me; the knowledge that He has and will continue giving to me in abundance; the Love that cannot be described with words; the Peace I finally have in my heart. This Love is making me go crazy; everyone needs to experience God’s true Love for themselves!

Thank You God, Thank You so much!

Love always,

. So much happened yesterday while I was taking the bus to church for ice-skating!

. I had gotten onto the bus, paid my fare, then sat down. The other person who was also waiting at the bus stop tried to insert his dollar in, but the machine wouldn’t take it. I went to go put in a better dollar, but the machine still didn’t take it! After about five minutes he ended up just paying his fare in quarters; the machine stopped taking dollar bills. I went to go sit back where I was sitting, yet I could feel something tugging at me to go talking to him. At first I decided to not go, because I thought it would be pretty weird. It was then the bus had broken down; even though it was only a few minutes, I knew that I had to talk to him! I went over to him and asked if he knew Christ. He told me he didn’t believe in Christ so I told him that there is a God who loves us, and He is a real and living God. We then started talking about school; he just came from Mexico six months ago, he is a gastronomy major at Mt. Sac, and one day wants to be a chef. He reached his stop so we said our goodbyes. I hope that I will get to see him around on campus!

. While sitting there in the back of the bus, I saw this man get on the bus, and he was wearing a Rowland Raider P.E. shirt. I went to Rowland High school so without even thinking I went over and sat next to him and asked him about the shirt. He told me it was his cousin’s shirt, and that he went to Citrus college for math major. I then asked him if he knew who Jesus Christ was. He told yes, he believes in Jesus, but that he was a man. Just then I could feel God leading me as I spoke to him about the God who loves us and the words just came out of my mouth! Really, all glory for God, always! After I was done, he told me that his sister was a strong believer, and had told him many times about Jesus. He said that she was a very happy person. My stop was coming up, so the only thing I could tell him was that it was never too late. Before I got off, he shook my hand and asked for my name; his name is Robert. Please pray that he would come to know Christ!

. At the second bus stop, I saw a man with a plastic trashbag and a light roller backpack squatting in front of the bus bench. When I started talking to him, he moved and offered me the seat, but I said it was ok. I sat down next to him and asked him if he knew Jesus Christ, and he told me no english. I told him Jesucristo and said Bible, and he told me yes in Spanish! Using my small Spanish vocabulary, I understood that he was from Mexico, and has two family members in LA. He was also currently unemployed. Even though our conversation was very limited, I had a great time talking to him; I was filled with so much joy! Even though we could barely communicate, we could say “Jesucristo muy bien!; Jesuscristo la viva!” Praise God!

. Also at the second bus stop was this person about my age, who was dressed with army clothes. I asked him if he was in the marines, and he told me no; he was in the US army. He had just came back from duty in Afghanistan! While he was talking, I noticed that he had a long gash under his left arm. I asked him about it, and he told me that just today he was attacked by a gang member with a knife. He had to hold the person down, but at least he was still alive. The bus came, and we got on and continued the conversation. He told me that back when he lived in La Puente, he was very involved in a large gang that dealt with drugs, weapons, illegal activity; just bad things. When he said he was quitting the gang, the other members tried to kill him, but he was saved when the army called him to Afghanistan for duty. If he did get called for duty, then he would probably be dead right now. I asked if he knew Jesus Christ, and he said yes. He knows that God protected him from the gang, and also many times while on duty. He told me about RPGs (rocket propelled grenades) that were shot at the helicopters, about friends that have died. Really, praise God! He started talking about his family: father, mother, and three sisters; that they all go to church. His dad plays the guitar for their church!! Cherish your family; they are the people God has placed in your life! He then told me that today his family did not know he was going to be coming back; he is going to climb in through his window and surprise his family! We had a great time together, sharing laughter, glorifying God. At that moment I wanted to cry for him, but I held the tears back. The short time we were able to spend talking together on the bus was so blessed, God, I can never thank You enough! If he is lucky, he will get to spend at least a month with his family before being called back out by the army. His name is Jason Ayala, please pray for a his family, that it would be a time of blessing. Please pray for his safety when he returns back to the front lines. I may never see him again in this life on earth, but I’m at peace knowing that we will definitely be spending the rest of eternity together with God in heaven!

. God is so amazing; I could never describe how amazing He is with words alone!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

“If any of you lacks wisdom, He should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” – James 1:5

. Entrust in God with your life; pray that you may be a good and faithful servant, and God will use you to in ways you can never imagine! And most of all always be ready for when God calls on you; don’t hesitate, there is only blessings, lives, and unforgettable moments to be made!

If you have not accepted Christ yet as your Lord and Savior, please think it through. There is a God; He loves us; He wants to know you personally. It is never too early, never too late to accept Jesus; but believe me, coming to know God has been the greatest blessing in my life I have ever receive, and there is still yet more to come! Accept Christ, accept His commands; Live and Love as He has also done for us.

. This will be the last part to my note “When God Calls On Us…”; there will be more, much more, blessings that will come that I would like to share, but I hope that this small testimony may encourage a person out there to live for Christ. I will continue to live my life for our God; I will continue to obey His commands; I will continue to go where He calls me, because I know that God knows what is best for me. There are lives to be saved! Go out and tell of the good news!

His love, His grace; there is nothing I could ever do to repay You Father!

All glory to God, always! Thank You God!

Love always,

– Joshua H Wu

God has filled me with so much love, I cannot describe this feeling. I have desires too, I’m only human; I’m lovesick; I long for to hold my future wife in my arms, whoever she may be. Proverbs 3:5-6 is not only for each and everyone of you, but also for me; mostly for me. I am a weak man; a coward. Why do I feel this way? What am I complaining about? I’m only 18! Jacob had to wait 7 years until he could marry Rachel, 14 in all; Abraham and Sarah had waited all their lives for a child, and Issac was given to them. My dad was 34 years old when he met and married my mom! God keeps his promises, and He knows what is best for me. Until then, may God continue molding me, guiding me, and breaking me into a man after His own heart; a man his wife would be proud of. Father, take this All-consuming passion of mine, and use it to be a blessing to others; for the lost, for the weary, for those in need.
