“That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring–not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”–in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. “
– Romans 4:16-17
It is by faith that we are able to experience God’s grace.

2 Facts about God that strengthen our assurance in His promises.

1. “Who gives life to the dead”

The promises of God must overcome death to be fulfilled. When we are in situations where we only see “death” around us, remember that it is through these circumstances that God’s promises are fulfilled. Don’t give up!

2. “calls into existence the things that do not exist.”

We are called righteous by God even though we are nowhere near that, as sinners; it is by faith in Christ that we are declared righteous. Through Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven!

Thank You God for Your grace and promises. Please, allow me to have more faith in You, that You give life to the dead and already declare me righteous even when I’m not. Thank You for the Cross!
