Hey everyone! How is it going? This was the first morning since my devotions that I wasn’t able to wake up early. The sleep I got was really good, but my body just couldn’t get up. I am currently writing this at school!

Author is unknown, but most like was written by David.

V 1

Why do many times does it feel as if God has abandoned us? Even though we may be doing our best, it may feel as if God has just left us to fend for ourselves; but this is not the case. In the book of Job, God knows Job is a righteous man, and decides to let the devil do whatever he wanted to Job to test Job’s faithfulness. Job lost everything: his family, his friends, everything he owned. And at the end, he still trusted in God; sure, he was angry at God for all the misfortune, but he never stopped believing. God gave him many times more than what he had before! It is the same with us; many times, it will seem as if God is so far away, that He has abandoned us. But it is through these times that God wants to test our faith, wants us to rely on Him and Him alone. He is testing you; teaching you; shaping you into the person He wants you to become. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding." -Proverbs 3:5

v 2-4

. The people who reject God really are evil; they live for themselves, doing whatever they feel at the moment. They persecute Christians while saying,"There is no god. There is no hell." In their thoughts, there really is no room for God; it is only themselves, for themselves, and for their own good. Why are these people so blind; so oblivious to what will happen when they die? Please, open your eyes. What is the purpose to your life? Take some time and think about it!

v 5-6

These people seem to thrive and enjoy many riches and pleasures; they are so far in sin, far from God that the devil can just leave them alone, and they will perish. Those people believe themselves to be so happy that God isn’t necessary. What is happiness? Having artificial friends? Falling in love and breaking up just as soon as the feeling is gone? True happiness can only come from knowing God.

v 7-9

Sadly, there are many people who curse all the time. They like to get into arguments, and nothing good ever comes from their mouth. There really are people who murders the innocent, whether for their own pleasure, belief, or even greed. There are those who scam the unsuspecting, tricking the innocent just for money.

v 10-12

Christians are persecuted day by day; in America, the persecution here is nothing compared to the people being tortured, beaten, and killed in other countries. Persecution will come; this God has promised to those who love and follow Him. When that time comes, who will stand for God? Whose faith is real? Christians have become so stagnant, so idle, because of all the prosperity God has given to them. "Two things I ask of You, O Lord; do not refuse me before I die. Keep falsehood and lies far from me, give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown You, and say "Who is the Lord?" or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God." – Proverbs 30:7-9

God, please just give me only enough so that I would never forget Who protects me, Who provides for me.

God will never forsake us.
He is always there, even when it does not feel that way. Trust in the Lord to know what is best for you, and continue to glorify and praise His name.

v 13

Why do the wicked believe God will not judge them? God has promised everyone will be judged.

v 14

God sees our trouble and grief; God knows your every hurt; God knows your every need. He understands the feelings of your heart; your cry for help is heard. Commit yourself to Him, trust in Him.

v 15

Really, break the wicked Lord; Break them so they may see how mortal they are, Lord. Break them so they may see their need for a Savior, God.

v 16

God is and will always be God; the Prince of peace; Lord of lords; Everlasting Father! He reigns forever, from the beginning to the end. The wicked will be judged at the end of times.

v 17-18

God knows our hearts every need, every comfort that it seeks. Lift your burdens up to God, He will answer! As a shepherd watches over his flock, God watches over His people. Anything that can hurt us still can never take away the hope we have in Jesus. Our salvation is certain; do not be afraid of anything, for why should we fear man, when God made the heavens and the earth?

Trust in God, for He will never abandon!

God Bless you,
