Hey! Good morning to everyone! Thank God for the rain yesterday! Even though it makes today’s morning very cold, rain is good. It brings life!

My mom just walked into my room while I was writing this and told me to stop wasting time typing devotion emails, how should I respond in this situation? God, please give me wisdom with my mother.

David is writing a Psalm.

V 1-3

David is going through a hard time and asked God to lift his burden. When we feel weak, ask God for strength. Do not rely on yourself, because if you succeed, you will only gain pride in one’s own abilities. Hard times will always be in our lives; do not simply think once we have accepted Christ, the rest of our lives will be rainbows and butterflies. The difference between a believer and a non-believer is one is able to get through hard times with God’s guidance, while the other can only rely on themselves.

V 4-7

There are times when we feel like our burdens are too much, and in this case David is telling God that if he dies from the burdens, then he cannot worship God anymore on earth. David tells God everything that he is feeling. It isn’t that God doesn’t know what’s going on inside of us; God knows how we feel when we are troubled. God wants us to ask Him to lift up our burdens so He will be glorified when we persevere through with God’s strength.

V 8-10

The devil wants to do his best to discourage us by attacking us with troubles and unfortunate events. Many times he will succeed; We will fall under the pressure and also fall away from God. But as we rely on God more, as we dwell more in His word, we begin to learn that God is all powerful; There is no one greater than He. Realizing this, when we go through troubles, rely on God to get you through. Not only will God get us through, but we will also be reminded that the devil has been defeated already. The devil is trying to get mankind as far as possible from God, but he’s probably annoyed to know that his attacks are actually being used by God for our benefit.

Hope you all have a very blessed morning! Dwell in God’s word daily, talk to Him whenever you can! He is always right there, you don’t need to close your eyes. You don’t have to bow on your knees to pray. Talk to Him as you would any other friend!

God bless you,
